Where to sleep in Barcelona is one of the most frequently asked questions by you. No wonder, because cheap accommodation in Barcelona or on the Catalan coast are topics that interest virtually all tourists visiting Catalonia. So what kind of hotels can I recommend in Barcelona? Check!
Barcelona is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe. Suffice it to say that this city is visited by several million tourists every year, so there are hundreds of hotels in Barcelona! Of course, for tourists, not only aspects related to comfort, cleanliness or distance from the center are important, but also (and sometimes above all) the price. It is quite a challenge for me to show you the right hotel, although I happened to spend a night or two in several of them, but these are distant times, and now, living in this city, I do not use hotel services. However, I looked through the offers, asked my friends, looked at the local press and at those offers offered by offices or tourist information. This is how this unique list and map of hotels was created that I can confidently recommend
Barcelona: Hotels are not cheap
When looking for a hotel for you, remember that Barcelona is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Europe. Every year, crowds of tourists visit the capital of the Mediterranean Sea, looking for cheap and comfortable accommodation. The cheapest hotels often leave a lot to be desired in terms of high standards. Their location may not be the best either. However, you can find hotels that are both high-quality and affordable. I mean the amount of around 80 – 100 euro per night. Such prices are the regular cost of a room per night in decent hotels.
Barcelona: cheap accommodation, where to sleep? A few tips
Many people choose their hotel in such a way that it is as close to the center as possible, so that you do not have to move too much – you can put this condition on the shelf when choosing an accommodation in Barcelona! Barcelona is such a well-connected city that it does not matter in which part of the city you choose to stay – be more guided by what you like in the photos and cleanliness ratings, and you really do not have to worry about transport
The same is the case with the beach, some would like to live nearby, so that you can reach it on foot, the beach in Barcelona is also very well connected (there are several bus lines to it) you can also get there by metro (yellow line) also not take the location into account when choosing an accommodation
So what should be the selection criteria?
If the accommodation is in Barcelona (and not in the surrounding towns such as Santa Coloma, Badalona, Espluges or Cornella, then you should only consider the place if you like the place and if it is within your budget
Hotel, Hostel, Hostal – what’s the difference and what to choose?
Hotel – a traditional hotel, which we have known for years, has 2 or 3-person rooms, usually with individual bathrooms, is subject to an association of hoteliers and is subject to strict standards regarding equipment, room size or the quantity and quality of cleaning service
Hostel – is a more modest version of the hotel, it accepts guests in dormitories, where you can only rent a bed for the night, there are also individual rooms, but they are usually more expensive and there are few (if any) hostels in the vast majority have only large multi-person rooms and shared bathrooms, their price is DEFINITELY lower than that of hotels without standardization
Hostal – is an intermediate form between a hotel and a hostel, it is the equivalent of a Polish guesthouse, run in private houses adapted as individual rooms for guests, in this case the bathroom can be shared with another room, although it is rather rare, despite the fact that they are not standardized, we can count on daily cleaning staff to ensure that our room is clean and nice
